DoubleLife: Double exposed film collaboration between two photographers.
DoubleLife is a series of images that reveals the ideas of two separate artists through a final, singular composition. Both photographers create images that seek beauty through the lens and express their own perception of the world. After each person has shot a roll, they exchange film and start the process over. The resulting double exposures are recorded on expired 35mm film. The final images were printed and displayed on 6×6″ panels.
This is the first collaborate project form photographers Rachel Hubbard and Sara Hughes. The sensibilities of each artist result in often contrasting work that seems to see the world more deeply than an image comopsed from only one perspective. The images are surprising; the result of two friends anticipating what the other has shot and reacting to complement those guess-at-pictures: a psychic collaboration of sorts.
